About Misty

Misty DeClark, MS, LMFT, CMHS

Thank you for visiting Lake Washington Human Services. I’d like to tell you a little more about my credentialing and overall approach to therapy. I completed my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Seattle Pacific University and began my career working as an outpatient therapist providing individual, family, and group therapy to individuals in the Edmonds, WA area. Through this work I was able to help clients struggling with mental health issues such as abuse, severe family conflict, depression, anxiety, anger management, ADHD, and oppositional defiant disorder. I became a child mental health specialist after extensive work on a children’s mental health extended care unit.

Following my licensure in 2003 I became the therapist for Lake Washington Human Services to support their work in providing mental health counseling to all members of the community, regardless of income. In counseling I incorporate aspects of Bowenian, Narrative, solution focused, and behavioral modalities in my counseling sessions. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that respects and involves the client, adapting techniques to the needs of the individual. I find the patterns keeping chaos and conflict in your life and work to help you break free of them. I have experience with individual counseling, marriage and family issues, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and child and teen behavioral disorders.

If you are struggling with chaos, family conflict, anxiety, depression, or feelings that you have no way to get control of your life back, I believe I can help you begin moving forward again. You deserve a life without cycles of problems, reactions, and pain. That life is possible.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding LWHS. I look forward to working with you.
